Don't hide behind technology
Technology makes it easy to 'hide'. Flashy websites; Twitter, Facebook and emails it's just too easy to get comfortable behind your desk and get used to not actually talking to your customers or potential customers. Technology is amazing and as I've discovered here at Perfect Image can be mind blowing, but I can't help thinking that sometimes it just makes you downright lazy.
I mean what's the excuse for not picking up the phone and talking to your client, what's the excuse for not taking the time out and pooping your head around to the next office room to catch up with your work collegue? I mean its part of building on your relationships isn't it. With all this fancy technology you still should try and spend quality time with your clients/employees/work collegues showing them you are interested and they aren't just part of the electronic revolution. Also it can be more productive than firing emails back on forth interruptiing the flow of work in everyone's days.
What I am trying to say is technology is no substitute for human contact, so although its definitely useful at times we shouldn't rely on it too much to build relationships.
